Ana R. Craft, Esq., has been Senior Attorney for Real Estate and Planning with the Miami-Dade County School Board Attorney’s Office since 2006, providing legal support to the Departments of Design, Planning and Sustainability, Construction, and other departments requiring legal support in the area of real estate. Ms. Craft has handled numerous complex, commercial real property transactions for the School Board, including numerous school site acquisitions, developer agreements, real property exchanges, interlocal agreements, leasing, joint use agreements, title examinations, platting, environmental, permitting, sustainability issues, etc., and was part of the District team involved in the implementation of school concurrency in Miami-Dade County and non-exempt municipalities.

From 1991 to 2006, Ms. Craft was president/owner of ANA R. CRAFT, P.A. Attorneys-at-Law, an active boutique real estate practice representing primarily real estate brokers, mortgage brokers, lenders and developers in all aspects of residential and commercial real estate transactions. Prior to that Ms. Craft was a member, for twelve years, of the law firm of BLACKWELL & WALKER, P.A., a full-service law firm with approximately 100 attorneys and 17 branch offices throughout the State of Florida. She served as Senior Resident Counsel and Managing Attorney for the BLACKWELL & WALKER, P.A. Kendale Lakes Branch from March of 1984 through October of 1991, representing AmeriFirst Mortgage Corporation, AmeriFirst Development Corporation, AmeriFirst Bank, NA, and other major institutional lenders and developers, in the area of residential and commercial real estate.

Ana Craft was born in Cuba. She came to the United States in 1960 and grew up in Chicago, Illinois. J. Hugh Craft, her husband of 35 years, is a retired high school social studies teacher and historical writer who served the Miami-Dade Public Schools System for 30 years. Ms. Craft is fully bilingual and bicultural in English and in Spanish.
